Meanwhile, ahead of the first ODI between India and Australia, the star cast of upcoming Bollywood film, ‘Badla’ – Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu were present at the pre-show. Pannu, who is playing the protagonist in the film asked the duo to name India’s toughest opponents at cricket’s showpiece event. VVS picks hosts, England; Gauty goes for the Oz

The thirteenth edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup will be held in England and Wales, starting May 30th. The India National Cricket team – ranked second in the ODIs, will begin as one of the favourites to win the mega event. In the recent past, India had won five of their last six ODI series. Starting from South Africa, Virat’s men had won the One-Dayers 5-1. Later, on tour to England, India suffered a beating – losing the three-match series 1-2.

Besides, the Indian team clinched the Asia Cup 2018 in the UAE apart from winning the Windies ODIs at home. On their tour Down Under, they defeated Australia for the first time on their home in a bilateral series. The visitors then made light work of New Zealand – thrashing them 4-1 in the 50-over format. Considering such results, both VVS Laxman and Gautam Gambhir vouched for India to win the World Cup for the third time.

However, in the quest to achieve this, they will have to face a few of the tough opponents naming – England and Australia. Though Australia is the defending champions, England is the ranked number one team in ODI cricket. Though GG had picked the Oz to challenge India in the UK, Laxman feels England, playing at home will be the team to beat.
