Moreover, Worker recently returned from the UAE where he had played the three-match ODI series against Pakistan. After getting ruled out from the fixture, Hamish Rutherford is named as his replacement in the squad. Meanwhile, he is another southpaw from Otago who has been in prolific form in this season. Furthermore, Hamish will travel to Tauranga from Christchurch, where he has been playing in the Ford Trophy.

Meanwhile, George Worker will remain with the New Zealand A squad. He will work through the standard HIA protocols and might be seen in the second and third first-class matches against India A at Hamilton and Whangarei, respectively.

Of late only, Pakistan had recently whitewashed New Zealand in the three-match T20I series. After that, the ODI series got tied 1-1, as the last game got abandoned due to a heavy shower. Worker only played the ODI series where he had scored 1, 28, 18* runs, respectively. He couldn’t put up a great show in the recently-concluded series and will also miss the first first-class game due to a blow on the helmet.

Furthermore, the 29-year-old holds an impressive record in the first-class career. George Worker has played 86 matches and has scored 3741 runs with his highest score of 210 runs. He has also slammed seven centuries and 21 half-centuries in his first-class career.

New Zealand A Squad:

Glenn Phillips, Dane Cleaver, Tim Seifert(w), George Worker, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Scott Kuggeleijn, Logan van Beek, Theo van Woerkom, Seth Rance, Doug Bracewell, Kyle Jamieson, Blair Tickner.
