Glad Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul's Suspension is Lifted - Rahul Dravid

India’s former skipper Rahul Dravid is delighted to hear the news regarding the ban upliftment of all-rounder Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. The Committee of Administrators decided to lift the ban on both the players on 24 January. Thus, both the players are now available for national selection.

Hardik Pandya is all set to join the squad for the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand. Thus, the Baroda all-rounder might get his chance in the playing XI in the third ODI against the Kiwis. On the other hand, KL Rahul will join India A squad for the remaining three ODIs against England Lions.

Thus, Rahul will play under the tutelage of Rahul Dravid where he can learn more. Furthermore, it is also reported by Times of India that KL Rahul will join the Indian squad for the T20I series against the Blackcaps.

“I am glad the suspension has been lifted. There is an inquiry in the process which must be completed,” Dravid told ESPNCricinfo.

“No one is brushing this under the carpet. The players have been the first people to admit that they made a mistake. They already have suffered a lot publicly.

“It is time to move on. We also need to ensure we don’t overreact. At no stage are you condoning their action or behaviour?

Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid believes both the players have already suffered enough criticism. They made a mistake which they realised and then apologised for the same. They went to miss the ODI series against Australia and also lost on the opportunity to play the first ODI against New Zealand.

“Clearly when you are representing India you need to be a bit careful with your public views and comments that you make because it might be completely inappropriate to a lot of people.

“Having said that it is important to recognise and realise that sometimes these things can happen. Sportspersons and public figures can make mistakes. It is part of learning and growing up.”

Both will come stronger from this – Dravid.

In fact, Rahul Dravid feels the interview on Koffee with Karan doesn’t fully reflect both the players. The Wall believes the dual will come out strong from this as they must have learned their lesson.

“I somehow just don’t feel that interview truly reflected the players. Hopefully they will come back better and stronger from this. I will say honestly, I do believe that both of them have not yet achieved their obvious potential that they both have, and maybe this might be the catalyst that would lead them to reflect and help them reach the level and potential they can achieve in all forms of the game. If they can do that they can certainly be role models,” Dravid added.

Rahul Dravid has been a perfect role model and both Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul will like to take a leaf out of Dravid’s book. Both the players made a mistake and they have already suffered their punishment as they missed out on four ODI matches. Hence, it is time for everyone to move on from the episode and give both of them a second chance, as we all deserve in life.
