Team India pacers have been quite superb across formats in the recent past.

They bowled quite brilliantly during the tour of South Africa and troubled them on a consistent basis. Despite losing the Test series by a 2-1 margin, the Indian bowlers ruffled the feathers of the South African batsmen consistently.

The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya played a crucial role, as India won the ODI and the T20I series.

Despite losing the Test series, this was the first time India bagged all the wickets in a Test series in overseas conditions.

Former Australian pacer Glenn McGrath was pretty impressed with the way the Indian bowlers had performed in the recent past. He hailed them for their superb run during a media interaction recently.

The Pace Bowling Arsenal

“They say you can’t win Test matches consistently if you can’t take 20 wickets. The bowlers India have at the moment are looking good, especially (Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah as well as the spinners. Obviously, Pandya is doing his job as well. There is no shortage of bowlers. So things are looking good for India at the moment,” McGrath said.

Following India’s successful campaign in the Rainbow Nation, India will travel to England and Australia in July and December. The pitches there in all likelihood will be conducive for bowling.

McGrath who is the director of the coaching at the MRF Pace Foundation stressed on the conditions India would face in England and Australia.

“It’s just about getting used to the conditions. We always say bowl with good control, hit the deck top of off-stump. In England, you have to hit that right length. There will be seam movement, but the pitches won’t be as quick as what is in Australia. It is different to what it is in India. If they can adapt using that Duke Cricket balls, I think the Indian bowlers will enjoy bowling there,” concluded McGrath.
