Gujarat Titans (GT) batter B Sai Sudharsan got out in an unusual way in his team’s match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Brabourne Stadium on May 6, 2022, in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2022).
The two sides met for the first time in the IPL 2022 and Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first, rectifying his mistake from the last game. GT went in unchanged, but Mumbai Indians had a change as Hrithik Shokeen made way for Murugan Ashwin in the playing XI.
Mumbai had an excellent start to their innings as Ishan Kishan hit 45 in 29 balls and Rohit Sharma made 43 in 28 balls with both hitting 5 fours each and Kishan hitting 1 six and 2 sixes. They added 74 runs for the opening wicket in 7.3 overs.

Then MI lost a string of wickets as Suryakumar Yadav got out for 13, Tilak Varma made 21 and Kieron Pollard made 4 runs in 14 balls. But Tim David showed his big-hitting prowess and slammed 44* in 21 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours only.
MI ended up making 177/6 in 20 overs. For Gujarat Titans (GT), Rashid Khan with 2 wickets was the best bowler, while Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson and Pradeep Sangwan took one wicket apiece.
B Sai Sudharsan Hits His Own Stumps While Trying To Pull A Ball And Losing His Balance

In reply, GT had an even better start as Wriddhiman Saha (55) and Shubman Gill (52) added 106 runs for the opening wicket. Saha hit 2 sixes and 6 fours in his knock, while Gill slammed 6 fours and 2 sixes in his.
However, once Murugan Ashwin removed both of them, some panic set in the GT camp. This was further amplified as B Sai Sudharsan lost his wicket in a bizarre way.

On the last ball of the 16th over bowled by Kieron Pollard, Sudharsan lost his balance while trying to pull a slow bouncer from the MI all-rounder. His left hand came off the bat as the short ball at head height was going past him and the bat hit the stumps on the follow-through, sending him back to the dugout, leaving GT 138/3 in 16 overs.
