Hampshire have cancelled the contract of Australia spinner Nathan Lyon as an overseas player for the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic. The off-spinner was set to play in the County Championship after signing a red-ball only deal, but with the English domestic season delayed until May 28, a mutual agreement to terminate the deal has been agreed.

The coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a standstill. It seems the entire globe has gone into isolation and things seem to be worsening with days passing by. The pandemic has also affected the sports spectrum to a great deal and major tournaments and series have either been postponed or suspended.
