Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has suggested some changes in the Indian squad after the Hamilton ODI loss. India lost the first ODI of the three-match series against New Zealand by four wickets at Seddon Park. Taylor won the Man of the Match award for his brilliant unbeaten century against the visitors.

Now, before the second ODI, the Turbanator has advised team India to make a change in their playing eleven.

The Indian bowlers proved to be costly on Wednesday. Shardul Thakur was the most expensive bowler as he gave away 80 runs in nine overs. Kuldeep Yadav followed him with 84 runs in 10 overs. The Indian bowlers lacked discipline giving away 29 extras which included 24 wides. Harbhajan has advised the team management to make a major change in the bowling department.

Former off-spinner Harbhajan has come up with an interesting advice for Team India to follow in the second ODI.  He has advised Indian team to play Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal together.

Speaking on the post-match show on Star Sports, Bhajji said, “I would like to see both spinners playing together – Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. This New Zealand team will play fast bowlers on any given day and they will take anyone on. But when it comes to playing spinners, it has always been a case for them. You can get those wickets in the middle overs. So I would like to see both the spinners play together. Maybe leave out Kedar Jadhav and play an extra spinner.”

New Zealand’s all-rounder Corey Anderson also supported Bhajji’s views. But, he was careful enough to mention that this might not take place as the size of Eden Park at Auckland is very small.

“I would like to see both the spinners play for the India side but I think that they will go with only one because of the small size of the ground in Auckland. I think they can bring in a quick or strengthen the batting a bit more with an all-rounder maybe,” Anderson said.

New Zealand beat India in the first ODI by four wickets. Batting first, India posted a huge total of 347/4 in their 50 overs, credits to Shreyas Iyer’s century and a couple of half-centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

But, the total proved to be small for the Kiwis who chased it down comfortably with four wickets in hand. Taylor was awarded the Man of the Match award for his scintillating knock of 109* runs that helped the Black Caps register the win after five consecutive losses in the T20Is.
