Harbhajan Singh Sends Birthday Wishes To Idol, Saqlain Mushtaq

India off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, sent his wishes for the birthday boy, Saqlin Mushtaq, the former Pakistani spinner. Here is what Bhajji wrote –

Harbhajan termed Mushtaq as his idol and also called him one of the best spinners and match-winners. Mushtaq is celebrating his 41st birthday today.

Saqlin Mushtaq, the master of Doosra, played a total of 49 Tests and 169 ODIs for India. He was one of the few bowlers who mastered ‘Doosra;’. Later, Harbhajan also learnt ‘Doosra’ and bowled the delivery in international cricket. Mushtaq last played for Pakistan in 2004.

He is currently working as spin consultant of England cricket team. Moeen Ali has done quite well since Saqlain has taken over the role.

Talking of Harbhajan Singh, he last played for India in the year 2016 in a T20I game against UAE during Asia Cup. Presently, he is not in contention to make a comeback in any form of the game, but he has not announced his retirement. He is still playing all forms of the game at the domestic level and is looking to make a comeback in the side.

He has squeezed his presence in the first-class format and has only played two first-class games in last two seasons.

The upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy will again be an opportunity for him to present a case for himself, especially when the selectors have dropped R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja from the limited overs side.
