Hardik Pandya‘s popularity has definitely soared in the last few months due to his exceptional performances on the cricket field. After a lukewarm start to his international career, the 23-year old allrounder has proved his mettle in the last few months and has become an indispensable part of the team in all the formats.

Ever since hitting Imad Wasim for three consecutive sixes in the Champions Trophy, Hardik Pandya has not looked back. His performances in the ongoing series against Australia has only enhanced his reputation of being one of the most exciting players in the world at the moment. After scoring a quickfire 83 in the series-opener at Chennai, he produced another match-winning knock in the third game, scoring 78 with the help of five fours and 4 sixes. Not surprisingly, his fan following has increased by manifolds.

But while the newly-found popularity can affect any player’s career, Pandya’s father Himanshu Pandya is not a worried man and wants his son to enjoy life.

“I’m not aware of why my son is getting female attention. Maybe it’s due to his playing style and role in Indian cricket. But we don’t have any issue, let him enjoy his life. This happens with all cricketers. When they come in the limelight, they get attention from all quarters,” Himanshu Pandya was quoted as saying by Republic World.

Pandya senior also backed his son to hit six sixes in an over. In the last 3 months, Pandya has hit three sixes in as many balls on four different occasions.

“He is mentally strong and his game will not be affected due to the sudden female attention he is getting. He hit three consecutive sixes recently. This was the fourth occasion. We are waiting for the day when he hits six sixes in an over. That day will not be far off,” he said.
