Hardik Pandya Does An MS Dhoni, Perfectly Executes 'Helicopter Shot' In Nets - Watch

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be making his comeback to competitive cricket in the home series against South Africa. Prior to the start of the camp for the series, Pandya has started practising on his own.

The 25-year-old recently shared a video on social media where he can be seen doing batting practice. Pandya, during the session, perfectly executed the helicopter shot as well. Here is the video –

On occasions, he has played the helicopter shot during matches. In fact, in IPL 2019 Pandya also said that Dhoni like his version of shot when he played it against Chennai Super Kings while Dhoni was standing behind the stumps.

Pandya will be coming back for the South Africa T20Is in place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was rested for the series. Pandya was rested after World Cup 2019. He did not ravel with the team to the West Indies.

Hardik Pandya had some back issues prior to the Australia series a couple of months ahead of World Cup 2019. He recovered well and also played IPL. There were expectations that he would be rested after the World Cup 2019.

Unlike WC, Pandya will be the sole pace bowling all-rounder in the home T20I series as Vijay Shankar could not make his comeback. He was in the squad for the India A vs South Africa A five one-day matches but was ruled out He has now been included in the squad for the four-day games and should he attain fitness, Shankar could be in line for a Test call-up.

The India-South Africa T20I series kicks off on September 15 with the first match to be played in Dharamsala. The second and third T20I will be played on September 18 and 22 in Mohali and Bengaluru, respectively.

After the T20Is, both the teams will be played three Test matches in Visakhapatnam, Pune and Ranchi, respectively.

South Africa will have a new captain in T20Is in form of Quinton de Kock as Faf du Plessis was not included in the squad.
