Hardik Pandya Proud and Emotional to Have Krunal Pandya Alongside him in the National Team

India’s premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya is proud and emotional to have his brother Krunal Pandya alongside in the squad for the T20Is against England which commenced from yesterday.

While Hardik made in the national team a few years back, Krunal was lurking on the fringes. He performed consistently for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. As a result, he got into India A squad and impressed with his all-round abilities.

However, this time the opportunity came as he replaced Washington Sundar in the squad. Sundar sustained an ankle injury during the training sessions and will miss the rest of the tour. Furthermore, Krunal was in England playing for the India A when he got the call.

Meanwhile, India got off to a flier in the first T20I thumping the host by 8 wickets. Kuldeep bagged a five-for at Old Trafford, including three wickets in his third over when he had Morgan caught in the deep and Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root stumped by MS Dhoni for golden ducks, as England subsided from 95-1 just after the halfway mark to post 159-8.

Rahul (101 no from 54 balls) steered India to their target in 18.2 overs and a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Kohli and opener Rohit Sharma also provided good support to Rahul.

Hardik proud and emotional

Pandya, who has cemented his spot in the limited-overs squad expressed his delight to see his brother alongside him. Furthermore, he also shared the details, how they started from a scratch and reached here.

He also referred to it as the dream come true moment for him as they longed for this day from the childhood. Previously, only Irfan Pathan and Yousuf Pathan have represented India together.

As kids, we dreamt about representing India and after going through many ups and downs together, today we are here… together.
