Hardik Pandya has done well in the recent past especially in the limited over format of the game. Pandya has been the cynosure of all eyes as he is a seam-bowling all-rounder, which is a rare species found in India. Thus, there have been comparisons drawn with Kapil Dev. However, there is no denying that Hardik Pandya still has a lot of work to do to reap good results. Meanwhile, Pandya also talked about the all-rounder he wants to emulate.

Hardik Pandya said he wants to emulate one of the greatest all-rounders of the game, Jacques Kallis. South Africa’s talisman all-rounder is regarded as the best all-rounders to have embraced the game. Kallis records are a testimony of the fact that he was the best all-rounder in the game.

Kallis is the greatest all-rounder to have embraced the game.

Furthermore, Kallis was able to maintain great fitness throughout his career. Pandya said he aims to replicate the same fitness as Kallis to try and repeat the same kind of success.

“I love Jacques Kallis. The way he managed his workload…the number of games. He played in all the formats of the game and was still fit. My goal is to be as fit as him,” Hardik Pandya said while talking to Times of India.

On the other hand, Hardik Pandya is well backed by the team management and skipper Virat Kohli. They have spotted the talent in him and the Baroda all-rounder is being backed by them. Pandya made his debut under MS Dhoni and believes he has improved under both captains.

“He’s been a great support. He’s helped me improve my game, which is a fantastic quality in him. Till now, I’ve grown with him. My career started under MS, then Virat took over. I’ve improved under both of them”.

Hardik Pandya has done a decent job in the recent past. He has had a good start to his career, especially in the white ball version. However, he still needs to be more consistent in Test cricket. Pandya is currently recuperating from a low back injury.
