Cricket commentator, Harsha Bhogle took a dig at Arsenal Football Club for their poor performances of late. Arsenal, who is a top-notch club in the England football circuit hasn’t tasted success in recent times.

Arsenal, who are harboring hopes of a top-four Premier League finish this season, is currently languishing in sixth place.

Most recently, they suffered a humiliating loss in the League Cup to Manchester City by a 0-3 margin.

Harsha slams Arsenal:

Bhogle, a renowned commentator took to Twitter to slam Arsenal for their recent performance. He also called for a new manager.

For a football club that is really a no 5/no 6 club and which, at best, could aspire for no 4, Arsenal gets a lot of media attention. Maybe even more next year when they have to have a new manager,” Harsha tweeted.

However, Harsha’s comment didn’t go well with the Arsenal fans.

Ashwin denies Harsha’s claim:

Meanwhile, India’s premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took a stand for Arsenal and dismissed Harsha’s claims. Arsenal argued that team goes through ups and down.

Oh no. Arsenal ain’t so bad Harsha, all teams go through ups and downs,” wrote Ashwin.

With a top-four finish highly unlikely for the ‘Gunners’ in the Premier League, the only way they can qualify for the Champions League next season will be if they win the Europa League this year, which will be a tough proposition with teams like Atletico Madrid and Lyon still in the running.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will face on AC Milan in the round of 16 of Europa Cup (first leg) on March 8. Further, announced the club’s biggest-ever sponsorship deal a couple of weeks back, extending their shirt partnership with Dubai-based airline Emirates by five years.
