Of late, social media has become a centre of huge controversy drawing platform. Meanwhile, in one of those stories, the sexist headline for the bronze winner in the ongoing Asian Games 2018, Dipika Pallikal has drawn yet another dispute. However, Harsha Bhogle raised his concerns about it.

Earlier, a news portal named Catch News referred the squash player Dipika, as the wife of Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik in its headline.

Probably, it didn’t go well with few fans and more importantly, renowned cricket analyst Bhogle.

Harsha Bhogle wants them to give their apologies for Dipika Pallikal:

The news served by Catch News instantly had drawn severe backlash on Twitter. Meanwhile, the classic cricket commentator, Bhogle too found the story to be disrespectful and wants them to tender the apology.

Bhogle felt there is severe discrimination in the headline delivered by the news portal. Bhogle asked all the men and women to show their discomfort with the tweet for the news portal that published it.

Earlier, the Catch News published headline which read “Dinesh Karthik’s wife Dipika Pallikal settles for bronze in women’s singles squash.”

Probably, not a headline one would be expected after bringing a laurel to the country.

Bhogle questions Catch News’ tweet over Dipika Pallikal.

His tweet read: ”A tweet I so wish I hadn’t seen. I wonder if the women who work here carry visiting cards saying “wife of……”. Go on ladies (and guys you too), show that you are offended, get the tweet deleted. And then an apology to Dipika, maybe? A bit of grace after this lack of respect?”

Deletes the post:

However, after drawing the flak from various fans and celebrity figures in the society, the news portal deleted the tweet.

All in all, it was a shameful incident which needed immediate correction.

I just love what I script. Over the years, Cricket has been my passion and crisping articles on it gives me an immense pleasure...Cheers...!!!
