Well, the ongoing season has seen a lot of cricket being played across the globe. On every other day, we came across cricket being played across the formats. Meanwhile, the voice of cricket, Harsha Bhogle picked his ODI XI of the year. As ever, it has got quite a few surprising inclusions and exclusions.

Rohit Sharma-Shikhar Dhawan to open:

Well, Harsha Bhogle kept his trust in the Indian openers to do the job for him in ODI side. Rohit Sharma has garnered staggering numbers in the current season with an incredible average to walk straight into the list. His partner-in-crime, Shikhar Dhawan also had a fantastic season to pair up with him for Harsh Bhoghle.

Following him, without any surprise, Harsha asked the Indian skipper Virat Kohli to bat for him. The right-handed batsman has collected runs at a great average by knocking century on a regular basis. His batting numbers are staggering as well.

Then he embeds yet another skipper in his side. He asked Joe Root to bat at number 4 in the lineup. Harsha felt that Ross Taylor has come close but Joe Root is the final winner of the slot. And then, it is Jos Buttler, who will pair up Root in the middle-order.

Then comes the all-rounder’s slot. Harsha, without any ray of thoughts, picked Shakib Al Hasan at number 6. Shakib is in ominous form for Bangladesh in both sections of the game. He will be paired up with Thisara Perera to fill the all-rounder’s slot.

Rashid Khan-Kuldeep Yadav will see spinner quota:

For Harsha Bhogle, picking spinners was the easiest job, as he got only four spinners, who excelled in 2018. He straightaway went with Rashid Khan and Kuldeep Yadav to leave just 2 spots for the fast bowlers.

The obvious choice for any analyst is  Jasprit Bumrah, who is the number 1 ranked bowler and also an impact bowler. Pairing him, Harsha asked Kagiso Rabada to do the job for his side.

Also, Here is Harsha Bhogle’s squad:

Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Shakib Al Hasan, Thisara Perera, Rashid Khan, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada
