The Mohammed Shami-Hasin Jahan saga just continues to drag on. In the latest event, the India pacer’s estranged wife has accused him of age-fudging and fooling the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Hasin has claimed that the pacer created a fake birth certificate to play national and state-level cricket. And in order to back her claims, she also posted a picture of a driving license on Facebook,  insisting it belonged to Shami.

The official records show Shami’s birth year as 1990. However, the picture posted by Hasin shows that the pacer was born in 1982. The post, however, was soon taken own from the social media platform.

Hasin also accused Shami of fooling the Indian and Bengal cricket boards by providing fake documents in order to play age-level cricket.

“See friends, the real birth year of Shami Ahmed. He made a fake birth certificate and has fooled everyone by showing his birth year as 1990. He fooled BCCI, CAB and also public by making a fake birth certificate that allowed him to play Under-22 cricket,” Jahan had written, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

“Imagine the injustice done to a genuine 22-year-old cricketer who was denied a place in U-22 team because of Shami,” she added.

The feud between Shami and Hasin started in March. Shami had found himself at the mid of the storm after his wife levelled sensational allegations against him. Hasin alleged her husband was having extra-marital affairs with several women. She even claimed the pacer was physically assaulting and threatening her over a period of almost two years.

Jahan posted several screenshots on social media to back her claims. The pictures showed the chats Shami allegedly had with these women.

She had also filed a police complaint against Shami at the city police headquarters at Lalbazar. Not only Shami, but four other family members were also accused of torturing Jahan that saw them getting charged under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections.

Hasin had also mentioned Shami’s involvement in match-fixing. As a result, the BCCI was compelled to withhold his central contract. But, after a thorough investigation from BCCI’s anti-corruption unit (ACSU) head Neeraj Kumar, he was given a clean chit.
