One of the major troubles for the players of the Indian National Cricket Team is all about the hectic schedule. BCCI usually comes up with tough schedules and in addition, Indian Premier League gives a lot of toll to cricketers in a year. Speaking of the same, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli revealed how periodic breaks will help cricketers, who play all three formats.

Ahead of the Test series against New Zealand, Virat Kohli revealed that breaks are necessary for players, who will participate in every format of the game. He feels a lot of players will take breaks from the game for particular series to get back to full fitness before starting fresh for their respective countries.

Intensity is right up there all the time – Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli cited himself as an example saying that he would play 300 days in a year including travelling and practice sessions. He explained that things are pretty tough to manage for those cricketers, who play all formats of the game on a regular basis.

“I think it’s been eight or nine years that I have been playing almost 300 days a year with the travelling and practice sessions,” Kohli said ahead of the first Test against New Zealand. “And the intensity is right up there all the time. So it does take a toll on you. I am not saying it’s not something the players are not thinking about.”

”We do choose to take a lot more breaks individually even though the schedule might not allow you to. You are going to see a lot of that in the future from many players. Not just myself, especially from the guys who are playing all three formats. It’s not that easy,” Kohli said.

Currently, Virat Kohli is in New Zealand to lead the Indian National Cricket Team in the upcoming Two-match Test Series, which will be part of the ICC World Test Championship. So far, India haven’t lost a single game in the Championship under the leadership of Virat Kohli.

It is expected that Virat Kohli will take a break from the game for the home series against South Africa. If he gets a break, Kohli will next be seen in RCB colours in Indian Premier League 2020.
