Riding on his unbeaten 72 in the second T20I of the three-match series against South Africa, India skipper Virat Kohli has moved one step higher in the latest ICC T20I Rankings. The latest rankings update took into account the India-South Africa series, the Bangladesh tri-series also featuring Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, as well as the Ireland tri-series in which Scotland and the Netherlands were the other teams.

Kohli is now at the eleventh spot in the latest rankings. His teammate Shikhar Dhawan, who registered figures of 40 and 36, has moved up three places to 13th after scores of 40 and 36. Afghanistan’s Hazratullah Zazai created history by reaching 727 points which is the highest tally by an Afghanistan batsman. He is currently placed fifth in the rankings.

On the other hand, 21st-ranked George Munsey became the first Scotland batsman to reach 600 points after scoring an unbeaten 127 off just 56 balls against the Netherlands before dropping to 585 at the end of the series. Rohit Sharma at eighth is the highest ranked Indian in the batting department followed by KL Rahul at tenth. Pakistan’s Babar Azam is at the top.

Among other other batsmen, South Africa’s Quinton de Kock moved up from 49th to 30th after scoring fifties in both the games. Among bowlers, spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has reached the top 20 in the bowlers’ list for the first time while Andile Phehlukwayo has achieved a career-best ranking of seventh. Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman has moved into the top 10 with seven wickets in the series.  Rashid Khan continues to remain at the top of the bowlers’ ranking.

Netherlands duo Ben Cooper and Max O’Dowd achieved their highest rankings at joint 41st among batsmen while Ireland’s Kevin O’Brien has achieved a career-high 459 rating points in batting. Andrew Balbirnie has also progressed from 95th to 53rd in the same list.

In the team ranking, Pakistan are at the top followed by England, South Africa, India and Australia.
