It seems like Tim Paine has got masters in sledging and involving in banters on the field. After his infamous banter with Rishabh Pant, the Australian skipper was once again involved in the similar banter with the wicketkeeper-batsman of Pakistan Mohammad Rizwan. After asking Rishabh Pant to babysit his children, now, Tim Paine likes the perfume smell of the wicketkeeper-batsman.

The incident took place when Rizwan made his way to the crease following the 5th wicket of Pakistan. It was Nathan Lyon in operation when Tim Paine kept wickets closely to the batsman with a slip and short-leg in place. Playing Test cricket after a long time, Rizwan proved he got nerves of steel by tackling Australians in his own way.

Sarfaraz Ahmed would have hit him four – Tim Paine

After Rizwan defended his first ball straight to Nathan Lyon, Paine started to sledge from behind the wicket. He initially told Mohammad Rizwan that Sarfaraz Ahmed would have smashed that to the fence if he was in the middle in place of his replacement Rizwan. He continued it by conversing with the short-leg fielder saying Rizwan smells good.

Initially, he said ”Sarfraz would have already hit him [Lyon] for 4… He has that sweep shot. Bang! 4!  He followed it up saying to short-leg ”He Smells Very Nice.”

Coming to the match progress, initially, it was Pakistan, who won the toss and elected to bat first on a nice Gabba wicket. Both the openers Shan Masood and Azhar Ali looked rock-solid in the middle, who knocked Australian fast bowlers with ease. They both added 75 runs for the first wicket before Pat Cummins removed Masood to draw the first blood. It triggered a mini-collapse, as they lost 4 wickets in the span of 3 runs.

From 75/0 to 78/4, a little spell completely changed the complexion of the game. However, Asad Shafiq stood tall at one end for the team while Iftikhar Ahmed once again failed to make things fall in place. Just when things looked all easy for Australia, Mohammad Rizwan played a cameo by scoring 37 runs off 34 balls before Cummins got the better of him.
