Wasim Jaffer’s nephew Armaan Jaffer is taking the right steps in his career. The prodigy batsman scored a fine triple hundred in the ongoing Under-23 CK Nayudu Trophy. In fact, the talented batsman scored the mountain of runs at a brisk pace. The right-hander took only 367 balls to bring up his triple ton with the help of 26 f0urs and 10 fours. Meanwhile, Armaan Jaffar revealed it was Virender Sehwag who helped him recuperate from an injury.

The former Indian combative opener Virender Sehwag adviced Jaffer to go to the National Cricket Academy when he was suffering from the knee injury. In fact, Sehwag went out of his reach to make sure Jaffer finds all the arrangements in Bangalore.

“I told him I suffered the injury while warming up for a Mumbai U-23 game,” Jaffer recalled. After listening to him, Sehwag told him: “Arre Idhar kya Raha hai (then what you doing here?) Go to NCA, the national cricket academy in Bangalore.”

Meanwhile, Sehwag also made sure that Jaffer doesn’t find any difficulties during his stay in Bangalore. Thus, Jaffer said he didn’t expect Sehwag to be so helpful for him.

“I wasn’t expecting this from Viru Bhai, I mean the way he showed concern left me speechless. When you are injured nobody cares for you except few people. Unka Badapan hai. (It shows his large-heartedness). Even before I had reached Viru Bhai had called NCA twice asking me whether I have reached there or not. Shetty sir helped me with accommodation and flight tickets.”

Jaffer went on to reveal Sehwag told him to stay in touch. Thus, Jaffer went on to give his gratitude to Virender Sehwag after scoring his triple hundred. Jaffer said there will be huge expectations from him.

“He had told me to keep in touch and inform him once I started playing cricket. So, I just called him to say my thanks. Mere Naam Ke Baad ‘Jaffer’ Naam Laga hai, so its natural people will high have high hopes from me. Everyone thinks I will also pile up big scores. There was pressure in the first game. There is a difference in club cricket and this kind of cricket. And also, I had not great match practice behind me. The first match we won, I scored 84. It gave me confidence but this inning has come at a right time,” Jaffer concluded.

Armaan Jaffer would be on the radar of the selectors for the Ranji selection. He would look to continue in a similar fashion to make a strong case for himself.
