India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is still inexperienced. He is a rookie at the International level and there is no doubt that he will learn with time. In fact, there have been some occasions when Pant has played some rash shots when the situation demanded him to play with maturity. Rishabh Pant believes he plays according to match situations and he is prepared to take the number four position.

Meanwhile, it is noted that Pant can lack the right temperament in the crunch matches. The left-hander has grabbed his opportunities in the Test format whereas he is yet to make his place secure in the ODI format. The southpaw batsman who is known for his pyrotechnics still needs to learn a few things.

Pant needs to add more maturity in his game.

In fact, a lot is expected from Pant as he has shown the promise to be the future of Indian cricket. He has impressed while playing in the Indian Premier League but the International format is a different ball game altogether.

Pant said while talking to Hindustan Times, “I loved batting at No. 4. It was nothing new for me as I have played at No. 4 before, like in the IPL. I had been practising for the same role”.

Furthermore, Pant added that there is no defined way of playing and he tries to play according to the match situation. In fact, there is no doubt that Pant needs to add more maturity to his game.

“There is no specific way or style I play in. I always play according to the situation. I don’t know what people say, because I don’t read newspapers much. The only thing I am focusing on is that I have to play according to the situation, see what the team needs from me and how I can make the team win”.

Rishabh Pant will like to grab his chances on the upcoming tour of the West Indies. India will play three T20Is, as many ODIs and two Test matches on the Carribean tour. The first T20I will take place in Florida on 3rd August.
