It has been a great last few months for Hanuma Vihari. His staggering numbers are being increased on a regular basis irrespective of the format. After knocking it brilliantly against England Lions in the shorter formats and for Rest Of India, Hanuma Vihari is eyeing to maximise the opportunity in IPL 2019.

Hanuma Vihari was added to the side when India toured England. He impressed the team management with his all-around skills and secured a place in Australian series. Once again, he secured the trust of the team by performing brilliant and also opened innings for the team.

My goal is to contribute on a winning-cause for Delhi Capitals – Hanuma Vihari

The all-rounder wanted to support the team in a winning cause in the upcoming edition of IPL. The flamboyant cricketer could not attract any bids in the last three years, however, his incredible numbers in domestic circuit pushed Delhi Capitals to go for him.

Speaking of the same, he wants to make most of the opportunity. Further, he is also excited to play under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer and coach Ricky Ponting. Besides that, he feels that the team got a good mix of the players.

“I don’t feel any pressure at all, it’s an opportunity for me to showcase my talent and what I have become as a cricketer in these three years. My only goal is to contribute in a winning cause for Delhi Capitals. Of course, as a team, our ultimate dream is to win the trophy,” Vihari said.

“We have a great mix of Indian and foreign players, and I’m really looking forward to playing under Shreyas and Ricky’s leadership,” says Vihari while speaking to Cricket Country.

I am ready to play at any position:

When asked about the position in the team, Vihari quoted that he would like to play for the team at any position based on the requirement. He feels that the team management will decide the role after looking at the permutations and the combinations.

“It really depends on the management – when and where they want me to bat, as an opener or a finisher,” he says, adding, “But I am fully ready and prepared for everything. I’ve waited for three years, and I’m mentally in a great space at the moment.”

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for the youngster. Going by the current form, most probably, he might have a good season in the upcoming edition.
