Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma has said that he and his team are confident that they will surely win their 5th IPL title when they take to the field on Tuesday, locking horns against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). Notably, Mumbai Indians are the most successful franchise of the tournament, having won four IPL titles so far.

This year has been no different for the champion team as they have more or less dominated their opponents. Mumbai Indians finished the league stage as the table-toppers of IPL 2020 with 18 points in their bag. They handsomely beat Delhi Capitals in the first qualifier of IPL 2020 and are now on the verge of winning their fifth title of the tournament.

“What we’ve seen with IPL is every day is a fresh day, every day is a new pressure and every game is a new game. So you can’t think too much about what has happened in the past,” added Rohit who is on the verge of becoming the first captain in IPL history to win five titles.

History Won’t Matter: Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was a bit more modest and humble in answering the questions knowing the fact that Mumbai have already beaten Delhi thrice in this year’s IPL.

On the eve of the final, the MI skipper was quick to add that that any win gives a team extra confidence. “To be honest, we can’t think about that we’ve played these guys before and we’ve beaten them. We just need to think that they’re a new opponent and what we’ll do as a team against that opponent. It’s that simple for us and we keep doing right things on the field,” said Rohit, who has been the standout performer for MI over the years.
