I believe I Left the Captaincy at the Right Time - MS Dhoni

It was a year and a half ago when MS Dhoni shock the world with his resignation from the captaincy duties. Just like his Test retirement, MS Dhoni announced his captaincy resignation without any indications of leaving it.

However, as ever, there has been a strong reason for MS Dhoni behind his announcement. He feels the new skipper needs time to shape the team for the 2019 World Cup as per the needs.

The former skipper of India, MS Dhoni has always been a great tactician of the game. He always provided enough contribution to the rise of Indian cricket. Meanwhile, even in his retirement decision, MS Dhoni kept Indian cricket in his thoughts.

He wants to make the way smooth for the next skipper to take charge of the team.

MSD felt any individual, who is leading the team needs time to prepare the team for the 2019 World Cup.

Attending the CISF at the Birsa Munda Airport which was about a program, Ranchi, MS Dhoni said, “I resigned from captaincy because I wanted the new captain to get enough time for preparing a team before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.”

”Selecting a strong team without giving the new captain appropriate time isn’t possible. I believe that I left the captaincy at the right time,” he furtherly added to his lines.

However, as Dhoni believed, Virat Kohli took the team India mantle and had done exceptionally well. He already shattered numerous captaincy records and kept India on the right track.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and the team management are waiting for a perfect player to take the number four batting position for India.

All in all, as ever, the greatness of the Mahendra Singh Dhoni is once again on the display who kept Indian cricket in his thoughts while announcing his resignation.
