It was a fairytale love story and a wedding for Virat Kohli. The Indian National Cricket Team skipper was in relationship with the Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma for a long time and then married her. They always gave the relationship goals for the youth out there with their unconditional love. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli describes the first meeting of the duo.
Recently, Virat Kohli turned 31 on Tuesday. The cricketer celebrated his birthday with wife Anushka Sharma trekking on the mountains of Bhutan. They not only went unrecognised in a small Bhutanese village but also visited a family and had tea with them.
Recently, Virat Kohli quoted that Anushka Sharma has changed a lot for him in professional and personal life. He gave a lot of credits to her for changing him a lot. Virat Kohli quoted that he curbed aggression after marriage and going after things in a professional way.
I thought I was being funny – Virat Kohli
Revealing the story, Virat Kohli quoted that he met Anushka Sharma in a commercial advertisement shoot for a shampoo. He was so nervous that Anushka was a professional actor, who can pull off things easily while Kohli is relatively new to the field.
In order to get the stress out, Virat Kohli cracked a joke at Anushka Sharma, which didn’t go down well for the Indian skipper. Kohli said that he looked like a fool in front of her, as the joke wasn’t that great. However, after that, they became friends and enjoyed each other’s company, which saw them being married to each other.
“The first time I met her, I cracked a joke immediately with her. I was nervous and that is why I cracked the joke because I didn’t know what to do. Before meeting her, I was standing on set all jittery and nervous. I thought I was being funny. I just said something which wasn’t probably the right thing to say,” Virat Kohli said.
”She is tall as well and she was told that I am not 6 feet or plus and ‘you must not wear massive heels or anything.’ Anushka walked in and was looking taller than me. I said, ‘Didn’t you get a higher pair of heels than these?’ She was like, ‘Excuse me?’, I said, ‘I am just joking!”
Well, now they are happily married and giving the goals to the youth out there. On the work front, Virat Kohli is away from the team, as he is in a much-needed break. The flamboyant batsman will be back to the action when India takes on Bangladesh in a 2-match Test series.
