Perhaps, Dale Steyn is someone, who can be the perfect replica to the word, Aggression. He has been such an impactful player in the world cricket and been the nightmare for the batsmen during his times. However, his career hasn’t turned the way he would love, as he was down with shoulder injury and got no chance to play the game.

Nonetheless, he made an incredible turnaround by following the strict guidelines by his physio. After a solid six-month time, Steyn made a comeback to the side, and he is on the course to register something big for his country.

I am blessed with natural action – Dale Steyn

The fast bowler quoted he feared of not playing the game again. Further, he added saying the solid six months of rehabilitation has helped him to recover back and focus on the things to make it happen.

“Not so long ago I didn’t think that I would be playing cricket again,” Steyn was quoted as saying by Sports24 on Thursday. “When I broke my shoulder I had this real drive to come back, but it took a long time. It took a solid six months before I could bowl again and I kept joking with my physio saying it was like U9 pace … I could get my arm over but there was no momentum.”

He continued, “I knew that once I started playing again it would be like riding a bike. I’ve done it for so long and I’m blessed with a very natural action and things come quite easy.”

A bit of mental strength needed – Dale Steyn

Further, the flamboyant cricketer quoted he is pretty determined to play again and prepared the mindset to make a quick comeback. Steyn went on to add saying he started pushing himself to bowl one extra delivery for South Africa.

“A bit of mental strength needed to come into play watching the guys play and not being able to participate, but in the end, I think it’s worked out nicely. I took every day as a blessing. The thinking was that if I could play one more game it would be amazing and, as a matter of fact, I broke it down to even bowling one more ball, one more over and taking one more wicket,” he said.

All in all, it has been a spirited comeback for Dale Steyn so far. Unlike many other comeback bowlers, Dale Steyn has been pretty top-class and delivering the required goods for his country.
