It seems like England set to get the services of their veteran fast bowler James Anderson for a longer duration than what was expected. Following his injury in the recent Ashes series, it was anticipated that retirement or sabbatical leave is on the cards. However, Anderson wants to continue and get back into the team by recovering entirely in a quick time.

The 37-year-old, who is England’s leading wicket-taker in Test cricket not only missed  2019 Ashes series but also ruled out of England’s ongoing two-Test series in New Zealand. The same calf injury is troubling again and again for the lethal swing master. He is still unsure about his availability for England in the upcoming series as well.

However, he wants to make a quick comeback into the team. James Anderson believes that he still got the juice to perform for England in the longer version of the game. He is eyeing to pass on his knowledge to the young crop of cricketers to make things fall in place for England.

James Anderson wants to make himself available for the trip to Australia for prestigious Ashes Trophy. James Anderson believes that he will be fit enough for the Ashes Trophy even if gets 39-year old by then.

“I know everyone’s talking about the Ashes in two years’ time, which is a long way away, and I’d be 39 by then,” he said, “but if I still feel like I do at the minute, if I keep working as hard as I am in the gym and at my game, then I don’t see any reason why I can’t make that trip.

“But whether I do or I don’t, I still feel that in the near future I’ve got something to offer this team, both in performances on the field and around the group. We’ve got young lads coming in, some fairly inexperienced players who might need some guidance. I feel like the more experience you’ve got around the group, around those younger players, the better really.”​

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would turn out for James Anderson. Mostly, he will return to the team when England team travel South Africa. So far, in his career, James Anderson rattled 575 wickets in his 149 appearances for England Team in Test Cricket.
