Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has heaped praise on Rishabh Pant for his fearless approach with the bat.

Rishabh Pant has not looked back since last year’s Indian Premier League. Pant ended the last edition of the IPL as the second highest run-getter with 684 runs from 14 games. It included five fifties and one century. He soon found a place in India A squad for the England tour where he impressed as well. It paved his way for Test call-up, and he made a big impression again.

The southpaw got off the mark in Tests with a six before scoring a stunning century in the final Test. It was followed by two impressive fifties against Windies at home. And Pant further enhanced his reputation with a stunning display in the Test series against Australia. The highly-rated youngster finished the series as the second highest-run scorer, amassing 350 runs including a record-breaking unbeaten ton in Sydney.

He slammed 159 in the Sydney Test and became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a Test century on the Australian soil. He also broke MS Dhoni’s long-standing record of highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper outside India.

What has made Pant’s knocks even more impressive is his aggressive batting. Not bothering about the conditions as well as the match situation, Pant has relied on his natural game and it has paid rich dividends so far. And the latest person to hail Pant’s aggressive approach is Sachin Tendulkar.

The former India cricketer said he loved Pant’s fearless approach before giving the youngster a piece of advise.

“Rishabh has terrific prospects in international cricket. He has a great future but he must keep his head on his shoulders and look to enjoy his game. If he keeps his focus he will play long because things will happen around his cricket essentially. I have liked his approach and the fact that he is fearless,” Tendulkar told Sportstar.

Pant, meanwhile, was not a part of India’s ODI squad for the series against Australia and New Zealand. He will join the team for the upcoming T20Is against the Kiwis.
