Well, the presence of MS Dhoni in the Indian Dressing Room is a blessing for obvious reasons. However, few analysts and the fans aren’t pleased with the fact and always try to drag him out from the team. Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri quotes that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a kind of player, who comes once in 30-40 years.
Further, he went on to hail the calm composure of Dhoni, who never gets angry on the field. Ravi added that he has seen Sachin Tendulkar getting angry but never seen MS Dhoni in such a state. Ravi Shastri also revealed MS Dhoni guidance in the phone for Rishabh Pant.
I Say Indian fans to enjoy MS Dhoni while he lasts – Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri quoted that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a legend and will be very hard for the Indian team to fill him in the team. He also urged fans to enjoy MS Dhoni before he leaves the game, which would be pretty tough on that day.
“He is a legend. He will go down as one of our great cricketers. I have never seen an individual so sound. I have seen Sachin at times get angry. Not this man,” Shastri told the ‘Daily Telegraph. “You can’t. Such players only come once in 30 or 40 years. That is what I tell the Indians. Enjoy while it lasts. When he goes you will see a void that will be very hard to fill,” he said
“That is because he has the best angle. He sees things. He is great with the guys, they all worship him. This entire team has been built by him because he was captain for 10 years. To have that kind of respect in the dressing room and experience is massive,” said Shastri.
MS Dhoni hasn’t given a single interview after ICC World Cup 2011:
Ravi Shastri also revealed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has never given an interview until now after winning the grand event. He hails the calm composure of the former skipper despite the greats things passing in front of him.
“Whether he gets a zero, gets a hundred, whether he wins the World Cup or loses in the first round, MS is the same man. He is simply consistent with his body language and composure. It amazes me how he does it. Since 2011 he has not given one interview,” he said.
Dhoni impact on Rishabh Pant
Further, he went on to say that Rishabh Pant was in touch with Dhoni throughout the series regarding his wicketkeeping and batting. Shastri added that it made a massive impact on the youngster, who did brilliantly for India.
“I would love to. He has the talent. His hero is MS. Every day he is on the phone to MS. I think during the Test series he must have spoken more to MS than anyone else.” he revealed.
All in all, it is pretty pleasing to see Ravi Shastri delivering high praises for Mahendra Singh Dhoni. As Shastri said, it would be really tough to see a scorecard without a name of Mahendra Singh Dhoni on it.
