The buzz regarding the discussion between Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly came to an end on Friday. The duo came up with some brilliant ideas for the betterment of things for the Indian Cricket. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has made it clear that the Indian players will have to go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for post-injury rehabilitation.

Sourav Ganguly had a long meeting with the National Cricket Academy director Rahul Dravid, and it has been learnt that the duo deliberated on the roadmap for the academy in a two-hour-long meeting. Sourav Ganguly termed it as a ‘general meeting’, without elaborating further.

The meeting between Ganguly and Dravid was held days after the NCA had refused to conduct a fitness test of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who is returning from a back injury. The ace bowler of India Jasprit Bumrah denied undergoing his rehab period in NCA, as he wasn’t sure about the work of NCA specialists. Instead, he visited his professionals in the United Kingdom.

We will accommodate everything – Sourav Ganguly

Speaking of the same, Sourav Ganguly stated that every individual, who is seeking treatment, must attend the National Cricket Academy. Further, Ganguly added that the player must take his specialist to NCA if he wants to get his treatment via his own specialists. Sourav Ganguly wants NCA to be the destination for a player’s fitness and rehabilitation.

”I met Rahul Dravid yesterday, and we have put a system in place. The bowlers will have to go to the NCA. If anybody (else) has to treat them, they will have to come to NCA. Whatever may be the reason, we will accommodate everything. We will also make sure the players are comfortable and they don’t feel left out or out of place. So, we will do it that way,” Sourav Ganguly said.

“We are going full throttle with the NCA. Construction work will start (at the new land), and it will be a state-of-the-art unit. In 18 months, if we are still there, you will see an NCA that will be spick and span,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would turn out. Though Sourav Ganguly is pretty confident of the work efficiency in NCA, the history of Wriddhiman Saha, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya with NCA staff wasn’t significant enough to rely on their trust in NCA specialists.
