On each day, the smog in Delhi is getting worse with Sun failing to get out of those clouds. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Team, who is presently in Delhi are facing a tough time with the weather change. Meanwhile, the young batsman of Bangladesh Liton Das reveals that they are looking to get a few more masks with the cloud cover around the stadium.

On Thursday, when AQI was reading 427, Bangladesh player was seen wearing anti-pollution mask while training on Thursday ahead of the T20I match between India and Bangladesh in Delhi. Earlier, it was Sri Lankan Team, who played with the similar masks in a Test match.

Even on Friday, the weather hasn’t seen much of the changes with the quality check showing between 300-400 throughout the day. The players wore mask to counter the weather while a few of them are experiencing troubles with the smog.

Under lights, it would be fine – Liton Das

Speaking of the same, Liton Das quoted that he has got health issues, for which, he is using the mask while practising. He admitted that it was a bit tough to get the sight of the ball but Liton Das feels that it would be fine with the game being at night.

“It’s my personal problem. I was not feeling well then,” said Liton after the training session. Yes, sighting the ball was definitely a problem but I think under lights on Sunday it should be alright,” Liton Das added.

Our coach is not feeling well – Bangladesh member

The Air Quality Index (AQI) around the Arun Jaitely Stadium at the time Bangladesh players were training was touching 400, which is the optimum range of the ‘very poor’ category (AQI 300-400). Already, it made an effect on the players, as they are facing health issues.

“Yes, we are thinking about getting more masks. Our coach did not feel well. He said his eyes were burning and he was finding it hard to even breathe because of the lack of clean air,” said a Bangladesh team member.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would turn out. Perhaps, it will take a long time for Delhi to see international cricket after the match between India and Bangladesh with the visiting teams facing tough times.
