ICC Test Rankings: Jason Holder, Pat Cummins Reach Career-Best Positions

Well, after a fine time, the game of cricket has seen bowlers dominating things in the last few weeks. The likes of Pat Cummins, Jason Holder, Kemar Roach have been pretty consistent for their respective teams to make things fall in place. Apart from bowling, batting section also saw a bit of change in the recently announced MRF Tyres ICC Test Player Rankings by the official panel.
Jason Holder has been recently named on top of the ICC All-Rounders’ chart. He was the first Windies player to achieve the feat. Now, he once again registered yet another scintillating record by bagging 778 points, which is the highest for any Windies bowler after the retirement of Courtney Walsh.
Pat Cummins ranked second in ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers:
Holder, who is placed 10th in the bowler rankings has leapfrogged four places to take the sixth position. Jason picked a 5-wicket haul in the second Test against England to see his side win the game by 10 wickets. It also gave Windies an unassailable lead of 2-0.
Meanwhile, Kemar Roach, who played a key role in Windies victory also gained 8 places to reach 12th whole Shannon Gabriel is at 11th in the chart. It was Jason Holder’s career-best rank in Test cricket.
In another story, the fast bowler Pat Cummins has been the massive gainer. Cummins reached the second position in the list, which is his first time in his career. On the other hand, Mitchell Starc, who bagged 10 wickets has bagged 10 places to reach 15th.
Usman Khawaja gains three places:
In the batting department, the stylish southpaw Usman Khawaja, who knocked a century gained three places to reach 13th place. The consistent Travis Head has been the biggest gainer, who pocketed 23 places to reach a career-best 20th place.
The other batsmen to gain ranks in the ICC Test batting chart are Kraigg Brathwaite (up one place to 33rd), Shane Dowrich (up two places to 45th), Shai Hope (up five places to 46th) and Darren Bravo (up two places to 55th). Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow bagged 64th rank.
