South Africa has suffered another blow before their second ICC World Cup 2019 match against Bangladesh. The Proteas veteran fast bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the second match as he has failed to recover from the shoulder injury. Steyn had also missed the first match against England.

Steyn has had his issues with his shoulder and he would need to wait more before he can take the field for the Proteas. There is no update whether he would be fit for the third match against India which will take place at Southampton on 5th June.

Dale Steyn will need to wait.

Thus, South Africa is going to deeply miss their experienced seamer services. Furthermore, Hashim Amla will not play for South Africa as he didn’t attend the practice session on the eve of the match. Amla was hit on the head by Jofra Archer and had to retire hurt in the opening match.

Meanwhile, South Africa could not get off to a good start in the ongoing ICC World Cup as they lost their opener against England by 104. South Africa had come up with a good bowling performance as they had restricted England to 311 after they were looking good for 350 at one stage.

However, the Proteas could not come up with a good performance with the bat as they skittled out for a paltry score of 207. Quinton de Kock and van der Russen scored fifties but the other batters could not get going in the batting innings.

Hence, South Africa will look to turn the tables in their second match against Bangladesh. The Proteas will like to come up with better performance and get off the mark in the ongoing ODI showpiece. On the other hand, Bangladesh is also battling against injury woes.
