The upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 is round the corner and every nation in pondering over their best 15 players who will be sitting on the plane to England and Wales – hosts for the 12th edition of the premier tournament. There have been a lot of debates going around the Indian National Cricket team as they are still to finalise their no four batsman – struggling to find a consistent batsman for almost two years now. Amidst the selection conundrum, former cricketers and pundits have named their best possible squad, and Harbhajan Singh is the latest addition to the bandwagon.

Meanwhile, many have tipped Virat Kohli & Co as the favourites to win the title this time. They have played some brilliant cricket all round the globe winning series against South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand at their home ground. However, the stakes have fallen badly in the recent five-match series against Australia just before the Indian Premier League. The men in blues went down 2-3 from being 2-0 up in the series. This has raised questions regarding the depth of the batting order and the ability of the middle order to win games.

Harbhajan picks his top 15

In the middle of all these, the selectors are going to name the squad in Mumbai on April 15 (Monday). On the eve of the selection day, veteran India cricketer Harbhajan Singh picked his top 15 and made a surprise inclusion in a recent chat with AaajTak. While the other 14 was pretty obvious, he included Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Navdeep Saini in his 15-member squad. The Delhi pacer has been impressive in the domestic circuit for the last two years and has also impressed for Bangalore playing for them regularly. Although he has only four wickets from six games, Saini has bowled with great zeal and looked competitive. Recently, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly also backed the young fast bowler to be in the flight to England. The only argument to go against him is that Saini hasn’t played any international games yet.

Otherwise, the squad remains more or less the same with Vijay Shankar and KL Rahul getting a nod ahead of Ambati Rayudu. The duo has shown temperament in the ongoing IPL and deserves to be a part of the World Cup.
