ICC World Cup 2019: India and England are the Favourites to Win, Says Harbhajan Singh

The ICC World Cup 2019 will commence in a few days time with host England playing on South Africa in the curtain raise on May 30 at the Oval. Meanwhile, ahead of the marquee event, cricket pundits are on a spree to predict the winner and veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh feels India and England are the joint-favourites to win the lift the trophy on July 14.

Harbhajan reveals his favourites

Meanwhile, England and India have played outstanding cricket over the last two years and have looked indomitable. They will enter the tournament as the top two ODI sides and will certainly be the favourites. Both the teams look well-equipped and have all the bases covered and look to bring home the title. While England will look to win their first trophy, Virat Kohli & Co will be eyeing their third World Cup.

When quizzed about his favourite teams, Harbhajan Singh, who recently turned up for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, picked England and India as the joint-favourites. The veteran off-spinner played a crucial role in Chennai reaching the finals before losing out to Mumbai Indians in the final.

“India, India and England I think,” Harbhajan said.

Meanwhile, all pressure will be on Virat Kohli to bring home trophy as people from all over India will be pinning all their hopes to win their third World Cup. India have all their bases covered and will lo look to focus on the process and give all their effort, Kohli said in the press conference before leaving India. However, Harbhajan Singh believes the pressure will be on the whole team and not only on the Indian skipper.

“Still, pressure will be there. Not just on Virat Kohli but the whole team,” he added.

Meanwhile, Indian National Cricket Team will play two practice games on May 25 and 28 before beginning their campaign against South Africa on June 5 at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in Southampton.
