England’s skipper Eoin Morgan believes it is going be a difficult game against Bangladesh as they are a good side. Bangladesh had won their opening match against South Africa and Eoin Morgan don’t want to make the mistake of taking their opponents lightly. On the other hand, favourites England were stunned by Pakistan in their second match of the tournament.

England has been ruthless in the last four years and Eoin Morgan expects his team to play at the top of their game. Morgan stated that he would confirm the playing XI of the side after inspecting the pitch before the toss. The England skipper believes it is crucial for the team to play to their strengths and back themselves to go all the way.

“All we talked about is sticking to what we do well, looking at our strengths,” he said in his pre-match press conference in the Welsh capital on Friday. “Previous to the tournament start we talked about losing games — how would we react? What would we counter that with? “Everything comes back to focusing on ourselves, how we win games of cricket and get the best out of ourselves.”

Meanwhile, England had made one change for the match against Pakistan as they had brought in Mark Wood in place of Liam Plunkett. The Sophia Gardens, Cardiff pitch is expected to have a tinge of grass and the seamers will be licking their lips.

“We’ll see another day where the wicket is under covers,” Morgan said. “The pitches here have been a bit greener and more seamer-friendly so that’s a potential (option), yeah.”

Meanwhile, Morgan also heaped praise on the opponents Bangladesh which has taken giant steps in the last five years. Morgan stated that Bangladesh has experienced campaigners in their team and they are a dangerous side on their day.

“It is going to be a difficult game, they’re a good side. I think people underestimate them but we certainly don’t,” Morgan said. “Their senior players especially have played a lot of games, more so than our senior players. They are a threat but hopefully we can play well and overcome it.”

England and Bangladesh will play their third match of the World Cup at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on 8th June.
