Indian National Cricket Team are due to leave for the ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales early morning on May 22. Kohli while attending the questions, called his spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal as the pillars of India bowling.

Chahal and Kuldeep are pillars of our bowling: Kohli

Meanwhile, the Indian team will enter the tournament as one of the favourites in the competition, They have played some outstanding cricket in the last few years and are contenders to lift the trophy alongside England and Australia. England have produced flat wickets in recent times witnessing consecutive 300+ totals. In these conditions, the slow bowlers will play a crucial role containing the batters in the middle overs. Former India skipper Rahul Dravid also mentioned teams having the ability to pick wickets in the middle overs will have an advantage on their side.

Virat Kohli & Co will travel with two quality spinners in their ranks – Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. They have done a significant job in the last two years for India. The duo has picked 153 wickets in total helping India win matches in abroad. They will once again play a significant part, and Kohli called them as the pillars of his bowling unit. Kohli is confident that they are in a good frame of mind and will give their best in England.

“Someone like Kuldeep has had such success, he needs to see the other side also. Glad it happened during the IPL than the World Cup. He is one of the pillars along with Chahal for our bowling. Same for Jadhav, he wasn’t playing in the best of pitches and T20 is such a format. I’m sure they are in a good headspace, in World Cup its more about handling the pressure and ensuring we stay focussed,” Kohli said.

While Yuzvendra Chahal had a good IPL, Kuldeep Yadav struggled a bit going for too many runs. But Virat Kohli feels it will have no bearing in the World Cup and both the spinners are ready to bring out their best for the country.
