Australia have produced a complete team effort against Afghanistan and will hope to continue the same effort. The senior cricketers have rise upto the occasion and have looked in fine rhythm which will give Justin Langer & the other support staffs a relief. Meanwhile, the Aussies are likely to flag an unchanged line-up, resisting the possibility of recalling Nathan Lyon as a second spinner in place of Nathan Coulter-Nile.

On the other hand, the form of Chris Gayle and Andre Russell will keep the Windies side in high stead. The bowlers did an outstanding job in restricting Pakistan to 105 runs and will have to keep up a good job against a tough Australian batting. Moreover, the batters will have to provide support to Gayle and defy the Aussies who dominated them in the practice game.

Date and Venue: June 6 (Thursday) at 3:00 PM IST, at Trent Bridge in Nottingham

Predicted XI

Australia: Aaron Finch (C), David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey (W), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa.

Windies: Chris Gayle, Shai Hope, Darren Bravo, Nicolas Pooran (W), Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder (C), Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Ashley Nurse, Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas.

Pitch Report

The wickets have been a little tricky for the batsman considering the overcast conditions. It is likely to be the same with the new ball attracting some assistance from the wicket. The last match between England and Pakistan produced a 300+ total, and it can be the same in this match as well.

Weather Forecast

Rain is likely to play a spoilsport at Trent Bridge like most of the World Cup matches so far. The temperature will be roving around 15-17 degree Celsius with the humidity levels sticking around 47 per cent.

Match Prediction

Australia will be high on confidence with a 12-match winning streak and will hope to keep the winning run going. On the other hand, Windies bowled out Pakistan for 105 runs and have some quality players to turn the course of the game.

However, going by the statistics, Australia have an advantage overall, but Windies have pipped the Aussies by one game when it comes to the World Cup. Despite that, Aaron Finch & Co will enter the match with a slight advantage over their opponents.
