ICC World Cup 2019: Match 12, England vs Bangladesh - England's Predicted Playing XI

England Cricket Team have had a start-stop beginning to their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign. They started with a thumping win over South Africa before going down to Pakistan. With one win and loss each, Eoin Morgan & Co will look to bounce back against Bangladesh on June 8 (Saturday) at the Sophia Gardens.

Meanwhile, the loss against Pakistan shouldn’t worry the English team much. They have been indomitable in the last four years and knows how to come out of these situations. They have players in their ranks who have the experience behind their back and will look to take the onus on themselves to take England to the winning ways.

They are likely to bring in Liam Plunkett in place of Mark Wood, the only change from their last game against Pakistan.

JASON ROY

Jason Roy has been blowing hot and cold in this World Cup. Roy can smash the ball hard and will hope to get his timings right against Bangladesh as the tournament progresses to the middle stages.

JONNY BAIRSTOW

Jonny Bairstow has not been among the runs in the first two matches of the World Cup and will be desperate to get some runs under his belt against Bangladesh. When on son, Bairstow has can dismiss any bowling attack, and England will be hoping for that against Bangladesh.

 JOE ROOT

Joe Root played a classical knock in the last game against Pakistan scoring a hundred but ended on a losing side. However, this time around, Root will be keen to take his team over the rope.

EOIN MORGAN

Eoin Morgan has led this side from the front in the last four years. Besides, he is one of their highest run-scorer since the 2015 World Cup and will hope to keep up their excellent form. BEN STOKES

Ben Stokes provides balance to this England squad. He can contribute with both ball and bat and is also an excellent fielder. Stokes had an excellent start against South Africa but failed to replicate his efforts against Pakistan. He will aim to get going in the next match.

JOS BUTTLER

Jos Buttler scored a brilliant hundred in the last game but failed to save England from losing. The management will want Buttler to continue this swashbuckling as he is one of the fiercest hitters of the cricket ball currently.

Moeen Ali will have to play a crucial role in the middle overs against Bangladesh who are good players of spin. He has been in good form leading to the World Cup and will have to justify his selections in the matches to follow.

Chris Woakes has had an average tournament so far and will have to take the right strides and make significant contributions as the host’s eyes a comeback after their defeat to Pakistan.

JOFRA ARCHER

With his express pace, Jofra Archer is already an international star. England will hope Archer to contribute with the new ball. Besides, he can also chip in with the bat, which will add value to the team.

LIAM PLUNKETT
