ICC World Cup 2019: Match 39, Sri Lanka vs West Indies – Match Prediction

Sri Lanka will be aiming to give it their best shot against a vibrant West Indies to provide themselves with the last chance of progressing to the semifinals in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 on July 1 (Monday) at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.

Sri Lanka defeated England by 20 runs against England light up their World Cup campaign. But their loss against South Africa have once again tightened their chances of progressing to the semifinals. The batting has lacked application which sums up their campaign. Dimuth Karunaratne will want his batters to raise their game and support the bowlers to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. The bowling led by Lasith Malinga has done exceptionally well and will hope to keep up the excellent job.

On the other hand, West Indies have been impressive in parts, but have failed to close out key moments in tight games. West Indies have always dominated Sri Lanka in the World Cups leading the chart by 4-2. But both the teams haven’t had the luck in this World Cup, and they have lacked to come out as a team as the results haven’t come their way.

However, with  Sri Lanka having some purpose in the tournament left, will have an outside advantage going into this game. The Lankans will look to do their job and win both the matches and then look forward to the other teams to hope things go their way.
