New Zealand have suffered two consecutive loses after a thumping start to the ICC World Cup 2019. The 2015 runners-up will look to confirm a spot in the semi-finals as they go up against host England in the must-win clash on July 3 (Wednesday) at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.
New Zealand-England clash in a must-win tie
The Kiwis were unbeaten in their first six of the game but suddenly find themselves on the other side with two consecutive defeats against Pakistan and Australia. While the bowlers have delivered on their every outing, the consistent failures of the opening batsmen have left Kane Williamson and the middle order to do the revival and post good scores. Senior cricketer Martin Guptill needs to raise his game and guide New Zealand to the winning ways as he did in the last World Cup.
Trent Boult also announced his return to form in the last game with a fifer including a hattrick and will hope to lead the pace attack against a strong English batting.

ROSS TAYLOR
Ross Taylor had raised his hand when his side needed him the most. However, New Zealand will want the veteran batsman to show consistency and lead their batting in the middle order as their chances of qualifying hang by the wire.
TOM LATHAM
Tom Latham has struggled with the bat so far in the World Cup. He needs to score some runs with the bat and provide stability in the middle order. However, Latham has done an excellent job with the wicket-keeping gloves on.
COLIN DE GRANDHOMME
Colin de Grandhomme has bounced back after an awful start to the World Cup. The veteran all-rounder will look to contribute more with the bat in the lower-order to provide depth in the Kiwi batting. Besides, he can also chip in with the ball which will give New Zealand flexibility against a strong England batting line-up.

JAMES NEESHAM
James Neesham has had an outstanding tournament so far in England. The all-rounder will look to keep up the excellent work as New Zealand march towards their first World Cup trophy.
MITCHELL SANTNER
Mitchell Santner has been economical in the tournament, but the wickets have not come his way. The Kiwi spinner will have to dominate the game and provide breakthroughs to contain England’s free flow of runs.
LOCKIE FERGUSON
Lockie Ferguson has been a revelation for New Zealand in this World Cup. So far he has scalped 17 wickets and is the second highest wicket-taker after Mitchell Starc. Ferguson has bowled with great pace and accuracy and will have to be at his best against England.

Trent Boult after having an average campaign bounced back with a five-wicket haul against Australia including a hattrick. Boult will have to be at his very best if New Zealand want to sink the host in the crucial encounter.
