Shakib Al Hasan once again scored a fine fifty but Bangladesh kept losing wickets. However, Mohammad Saifuddin and Sabbir Rahman refused to throw in the towel as they added a fine partnership.

Shakib Al Hasan looked good for his 66 but he was flummoxed by a slower delivery from Hardik Pandya. Pandya was able to deliver the goods with the ball as he scalped three wickets and varied his pace with guile.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah was right on the money with his yorkers. Mohammad Saifuddin kept India’s win at bay with his brilliant fifty. The southpaw batsman added 66 runs with Sabbir Rahman and kept their team in the contest. However, Bumrah was able to wrap up the innings as he bowled accurate yorkers to take four wickets.

Rohit Sharma was able to clean strike the ball as the right-hander batted at the top of his game. In fact, the right-hander had the rub of the green on his side as he was dropped by Tamim Iqbal when he was on nine runs.

Consequently, Rohit Sharma made sure that Bangladesh paid a hefty price for the bungled catch. Rohit Sharma timed the ball to perfection as he scored his fourth hundred of the World Cup but he was soon dismissed after completing his personal milestone. The right-hander failed to pick up the slower delivery from Soumya Sarkar. KL Rahul looked good and scored 77 runs but could not get to the hundred.

However, India could not add the finishing touches. MS Dhoni scored 35 whereas Pant smashed 48 but India finished at 314 when they looked set to reach 350.

Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of Bangladesh bowlers as he scalped five wickets for his team. Rahman rolled his fingers over the ball and he was able to hit the right areas.
