Sri Lanka Cricket Team have announced their 15-member squad that will take part in the ICC World Cup 2019 starting from May 30 in England and Wales. Meanwhile, surprisingly they have omitted senior batsman Dinesh Chandimal from their preliminary squad.

Meanwhile, the Lankans will have a new skipper in Dimuth Karunaratne, who has not played ODI cricket since the 2015 World Cup. Their last four series have seen them cycle through three different skippers, with all of Angelo Mathews, Chandimal, and Lasith Malinga have been at the helm at some point. However, after a few straight defeats, the Sri Lanka Cricket officials decided to go with Karunaratne.
