MS Dhoni, who has expressed his love for the army very often showed respect to paramilitary forces for their sacrifice to the nation. However, ICC, on Thursday, requested BCCI to remove the same saying that it is against their regulations. ICC General Manager – Strategic Communications, Claire Furlong said that they have asked for BCCI to remove that sign from the gloves of MS Dhoni. She also added that the veteran cricketer will not face any charge against the same.

“It is against the regulations and we have requested it is removed,” Furlong said to NDTV. “For first breach no, just a request to remove,” she added.

However, an ANI report suggests that ICC is ready to reconsider their decision if BCCI can convince them that the Balidan badge doesn’t contain any political, religious, or racial significance. Amidst all this, MS Dhoni has got the support of his colleague Suresh Raina who said that the gesture should be taken as an act of patriotism and not nationalism. Meanwhile, the Army Insignia was clearly visible when he stumped Andile Phehlukwayo in the 40th over of the match against South Africa.
