ICC World Cup 2019: Twitter Reacts as Bangladesh Thumps South Africa

Bangladesh won the thrilling contest against South Africa at Kennington Oval by 21 runs at Kennington Oval, London on Sunday. Bangladesh posted their highest score in ODI format – 330 – after the Tigers were put into bat by South African skipper Faf du Plessis.
Bangladesh got off to a fine start as their openers posted 60 runs for the opening alliance. Soumya Sarkar came up with some delightful shots as he drove his drives with perfection. The southpaw scored a fluent 42 from 30 balls with the help of nine fours to hit the ground running.
Bangladesh dominated the whole match.
Subsequently, Bangladesh’s experienced batsman Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim milked the South African bowling to all corners of the ground. Hasan scored 75 whereas Rahim scored 78 from 80 to stitch a fine partnership of 142 runs for the third wicket.
Furthermore, Mahmudullah scored a blistering 33-ball 46 runs knock to add finishing touches to his team’s innings. Hence, Bangladesh was able to post 330 after Mosadek Hossain scored 26 runs. Andile Phehlukwayo, Chris Morris and Imran Tahir scalped two wickets each.
Great performance from the Tigers.
On the other hand, South Africa could not get off to a good start in their run-chase as in-form Quinton de Kock was dismissed via run-out. Confusion between de Kock and Aiden Markram let to former been well short of his ground. Aiden Markram was also castled by Shakib Al Hasan in his first over.
South Africa’s skipper Faf du Plessis was able to hit the ground running as the right-hander scored 62 from 53 balls. However, he was cleaned up by Mehidy Hasan when Faf danced down the track and Hasan found the gulf between bat and pad.
David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen got off to starts but could not convert their score into the substantial score. Thus, the Proteas needed 63 runs from the last five overs with JP Duminy and Chris Morris at the crease. Rahman was able to clean bowled JP Duminy and all of South Africa’s hopes died with that dismissal.

I love JP, but man alive you’d have more joy putting faith in your smouldering high school boyfriend than him. My days. #CWC19

Bangladesh has outbowled South Africa today.
What a harsh lesson to learn that too on a big stage. #CWC19

That's one way for South Africa not to have to worry about choking in the knockouts. Lose to India on Weds and would probably need to win 6 out of 6 to reach the semi-finals – even that not guaranteed to be enough

Bangladesh now the only second side after England to have a bat during the death overs (41-50 overs) in this #CWC19 and on both occasions the bowling side being – South Africa! Before this, seven other batting sides' innings did not go beyond 40 overs! #BanvSA#SAvBan#CWC2019

Every time I change channels to watch the sevens they lose a wicket?

Bangladesh are about to beat South Africa. Bowlers have been in the game thanks to lively surfaces. We've seen bouncers take wickets, no run fests, a spinner open the bowling, and also a score of 300+. And India are yet to play.
This is a great World Cup so far!

Very impressive from Bangladesh. The batting looks powerful and they are well led. But South Africa have a lot of introspection to do. The bowling looked flat today and they need a dominant player in the middle order.
