India posted a massive total of 336 runs after Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli came to the party against Pakistan in the 22nd match of the World Cup at Manchester. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma gave a perfect start to the team as they added 136 runs for the opening stand after Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Rohit Sharma was able to hit the ground running as he batted at the top of his game. The flamboyant batsman timed the ball with perfection from the get-go and the Pakistan bowlers didn’t have any answers to Sharma’s assault.

Rohit Sharma was on fire.

On the other hand, KL Rahul took his time in the initial phase of the innings. Rahul was cautious in his approach and rotated the strike with guile. However, Rohit Sharma was playing like Rohit Sharma and made the most of the loose balls. The right-hander was in the zone and took Pakistan bowlers to the cleaners.

However, Pakistan had their chances as a miss-understanding between KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma created a run-out chance. But Fakhar Zaman didn’t throw the ball to the right end and Rohit Sharma was able to make his way back into the crease when he was only 32 runs.

In fact, Pakistan fielders had one more chance of the run-out but they failed to grab it. The flamboyant batsman completed his hundred in only 85 balls and scored a fine knock of 140 runs. In fact, at one stage, it looked like that Rohit Sharma will once again breach the 200-run mark. However, it wasn’t to as he held out to short fine-leg.

On the other hand, KL Rahul scored a fine knock of 57 runs to give a great start. Furthermore, Virat Kohli was at his best as he converted the ones into twos. Kohli completed his 51st fifty for the Indian side and completed his 11000 ODI runs.
