The ICC World Cup 2019 is only a week away from now, and the cricketer lovers are already excited over it. The tournament will commence from May 30 with host England taking on South Africa at the Oval. It will be a high-scoring World Cup with English wickets offering so much for the batsmen. The recently concluded series between England and Pakistan witnessed 300+ scores in almost all the games. With so many runs on the cards, the bookies have predicted Indian National Cricket Team skipper Virat Kohli to finish as the highest run-scorer.

Meanwhile, Kohli has scored heavily in the last few years. He is currently the top-ranked ODI batsman and all eyes will be on him when the Men in Blues get going in the World Cup on June 5. Since the 2015 World Cup, Kohli has amassed 4306 runs from 69 games at a staggering average of 78.29. His conversion rate is also eye-catching and has made a habit of breaking records. Virat Kohli has scored the most runs between these two World Cups and will hope to keep the good run going.

And unsurprisingly, the bookies have predicted the talismanic run-scorer to finish at the top in the list of maximum runs scored in the World Cup. According to local bookmakers Sportingbet, Virat Kohli can be backed at 6/1 to finish with more runs than anybody else at the marquee tournament. Australia’s David Warner and England’s Jonny Bairstow, who forged a great partnership in the IPL are the joint-second in the list of the bookies at10/1, followed by England’s Joe Root at 12/1. South Africa’s Quinton de Kock occupies the next position at 14/1, along with Australia’s Steve Smith and India’s Shikhar Dhawan.

New Zealand’s Martin Guptill finished as the highest run-scorer in the 2015 World Cup with 547 runs. On the other hand, Virat Kohli finished with 305 runs from eight matches at an average of 50.83.
