If Dhoni Is Mercedes Version then Manish Pandey is Alto Version, Quips Ajay Jadeja

There were plenty of positives in team India’s drubbing of New Zealand in the T20I series. Manish Pandey flourishing in the new role is one such pointer. Pandey, who bats at no.6 for India, hit a match-winning fifty in the fourth game. Apart from that, he didn’t get much time to spend in the middle but he has contributed in every possible manner.

Zaheer told on Cricbuzz live, “Unhone situation ko bahut ache se samjha hai. Woh apne game ko bahut ache se samajh rahe hain. (He understands the match situations really well. He is also aware of his own strengths and weaknesses as of now.).”

However, Jadeja went a little ahead and compared Pandey to MS Dhoni in an unique manner. Dhoni, who was last seen in international circuit during the World Cup, is one of the finest finishers in the game. Pandey is earning a reputation of his own by trying to close-in games. His hundred against Australia Down-Under in 2016 was eye-catching and his current form is nothing but stellar.

“18th over mein maine unko out hote hue bahut rare dekha hai. Agar Dhoni Mercedes version the, toh yeh Alto-version hain. Style wahi hai khelne ka lekin inka horsepower kam hai (I have hardly seen him get out from the 18th over. If Dhoni is the Mercedes-version, he is the Alto-version. He might not have the same horsepower, but has the same playing style like Dhoni).” Jadeja said.
