Team India finally managed to get the better of New Zealand in the shortest format of the game. In the last 6 T20I meetings with New Zealand, India had ended up on the losing side on five occasions while one game ended without a result. However, the Men in Blue ended the losing streak in fine fashion by thrashing the Black Caps by 53 runs in the series-opener in Delhi. Batting first, India scored a mammoth 202 for 3 before the bowlers complimented the batsmen with a good show, restricting the visitors to 149 for 8 to help the team take the lead.

India will have a chance to wrap up the three-match series in Rajkot and the team-management is likely to field the strongest unit in the penultimate game of the series.

So here we are taking a look at the playing eleven which India can field in the second game:

1. Rohit Sharma:

The right-handed batsman continued his sizzling form with the bat in the T20Is too. After scoring 147 in the final ODI, he slammed 80 in the series-opener.

2. Shikhar Dhawan:

The southpaw came out all guns blazing right from the word go, slamming 80 off just 52 balls to take the Man of the Match award.

3. Virat Kohli:

The best T20I batsman in the world also sizzled with the bat, playing a quickfire knock of 26 off just 11 balls to help the team cross the 200-run mark.

4. Shreyas Iyer:

The Mumbai star made his debut in the last game but could not bat. Is likely to be retained in the playing game for the upcoming game.

5. MS Dhoni:

The former India skipper played just 2 balls in the first game, sending one for a huge six. Is a guaranteed starter in the next game.

6. Hardik Pandya:

The hard-hitting allrounder failed to justify his promotion at number 3, getting dismissed for a duck but made it for it with a good show in the field and with the ball. His stunning catch at long on to send back Martin Guptill set the tone for the team before he took the prized wicket of Kane Williamson.

7. Axar Patel:

Axar Patel is looking primed to keep Kuldeep Yadav out of the playing eleven for at least one more game after his impressive spell in the first game when he took 2 for just 20 off his four overs.

8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar also had a good outing with the ball, as he conceded 23 runs in his three overs and also dismissed the dangerous Colin Munro cheaply.

9. Yuzvendra Chahal:

Continuing his rise, the leg-spinner set the tone for India with the ball by sending back Martin Guptill in the very second over. He finished the game with 2 for 26 off his 4 overs.

10. Jasprit Bumrah:

Bumrah had a rare off day in Delhi, going for 37 runs off his 4 overs without taking any wicket. Will be looking to bounce back in the upcoming game.

11. Mohammed Siraj:

With India keen to play five front-line bowlers and Ashish Nehra retired, Mohammed Siraj can make his much-anticipated debut in international cricket.
