India A vs England Lions 2019: BCCI Announces Squad For The First 4-day Game, KL Rahul Finds Place

Well, of late, the selectors of the Board of Control for Cricket in India are busy in announcing their squads for various tournaments and the bilateral series across the age groups and also for the national and international stints. Meanwhile, in the latest news, they announced squad for the 4-day game against England Lions, in which KL Rahul also finds a place.

The surprise pick of the selection is KL Rahui. Perhaps, they want him to give as many games as possible to get his form back ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019. Recently, he has been suspended for making few uncomfortable statements in a Koffee With Karan Show.

Ankit Bawne to lead:

Meanwhile, the talented youngster, Ankit Bawne will lead the side for the first game. Bawne, who plays for Maharashtra in domestic cricket, has been a part of India A setup over the past year and averages 72.33 in 16 innings, with one century and three fifties.

The other openers, who found the place in the squad are Abhimanyu Easwaran and Priyank Panchal, who are carrying a brilliant average in the domestic circuit for their respective teams in Ranji Trophy 2018-19.

The designated wicketkeeper is Andhra’s KS Bharat who scored 363 runs in the Ranji Trophy and was part of India A squad in 2018. Other notable names in the batting section are Ricky Bhui and Mumbai’s Siddhesh Lad.

Coming to the all-rounder section, Jalaj Saxena is the sole player while the spin department consists of Mayank Markande and Shahbaz Nadeem. Meanwhile, the BCCI Selectors came up with a decent pace battery as well.

They have asked Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur of Mumbai, Avesh Khan and Varun Aaron to be available for the game. All in all, it seems like BCCI has announced the squad by having a keen look in their domestic numbers. The game will be played at Wayanad on February 7th.
